Overview

Hee Lai Ton Restaurant in Puchong offers a solid experience for those craving authentic Chinese cuisine in a comfortable setting. Nestled within Bandar Puchong Jaya, this establishment is known for its extensive menu, featuring classic dishes like Steamed Giant Grouper Fish, Abalone with Mixed Vegetables, Sharks Fin Soup, and the indulgent Whole Crispy Suckling Pig. The restaurant strikes a balance between traditional flavors and generous portions, making it a popular choice for family dinners and special occasions.

The location is convenient, though parking can be a challenge during peak hours, which is something to consider. Inside, the ambiance suits both casual dining and celebratory gatherings. One standout aspect is the attentive service, with staff ensuring dishes served in claypots remain warm through thoughtful touches like lighted candles — a small detail that elevates the dining experience, especially on cooler evenings.

Patrons often mention the consistently tasty mains such as Roast Duck, Iberico Ribs, and various prawn dishes prepared with soy sauce, highlighting the kitchen’s skill in balancing flavors and textures. The restaurant caters well to diners seeking familiar Chinese fare without unnecessary fuss, making it an ideal venue for reunions, weddings, and family dinners. Event setups here, according to some, rival the quality and decor of upscale hotels, with well-managed audio-visual components enhancing the overall atmosphere.

While some dishes are described as standard fare, occasional unique offerings like the pork ribs with pumpkin add interesting variety to the menu. The menu also accommodates ala carte ordering, which allows guests to tailor their meal to personal preferences—an option appreciated by many visitors.

Hee Lai Ton is best suited for those who value traditional Chinese culinary staples, enjoy attentive service, and prefer a relaxed, yet refined dining environment. Whether it’s a weekday dinner or a grand celebration, the restaurant’s food quality and consistent execution make it a dependable choice in the Puchong area.

You will be sceptic of this place if you read all the reviews. But fortunately Ala carte food ordered is better than set menu. We ordered kailan prawns and is given broccoli prawns. They obliged and change for us. Do note however, prawns is @Rm7/pc, as mentioned before we ordered. Kailan don't taste so nice but the others are good. And dishes in claypot is served with lighted candle, so food stay warm in the cold restaurant. It's a quiet weekday night, so service is good. Price higher than average. Parking is terrible.

I was there for a wedding dinner. So you can imagine my expectations! Can it do better than a hotel? Yes, it did in everything- the sumptuous almost 10-course dinner, the decor(set up for a wedding), the sound and video components, service, etc- you name it, they got it! It even felt like a hotel environment!!!

This restaurant is typical Chinese restaurant, everything you would expect, from the meals, to the atmosphere and such. The food was quite nice, but nothing out of the ordinary. Could use a bit more uniqueness, as seen in the pork ribs pumpkin dish we ordered, quite the unique and curious exception to the otherwise regular food. The service is good, they refill water efficiently, but the atmosphere is what you would expect. This restaurant doesn’t stand out from the rest, but it is a good option for a traditional Chinese meal with family in the Puchong area.

Good for reunion dinners or celebrations. Parking is difficult around the area but there is valet parking available. Ordered the 6 pax course dinner and the food is generally good and not too filling. They are famous for their chicken rice which is served last, and that was the highlight of the meal.
